Lume · Nobody starts from an empty place
sample · UNAFFILIATED · Jessie craft demo. A 59-second Short re-cut from Lume's 57-minute video essay, taken from the chapter "So What Is a Copy?" and built around one idea: nobody starts from an empty place. It opens on the question (is it copying or learning?), then walks three exhibits: Van Gogh repainting Millet from black-and-white prints and calling it translating, Tarantino taking the Reservoir Dogs ending from City on Fire and the yellow tracksuit from Bruce Lee, and Hollywood's Save the Cat beat sheet. It lands on the line "There is no empty place." The narration is reordered so the thesis is the cold open and the closing card. B-roll is re-timed so the formula line plays over the matching poster comparisons, each shot is reframed for 9:16 with tall crops on portraits and fitted bands on side-by-side comparisons, and word-synced captions run throughout. Cuts sit on measured audio minima, with a warm-high, cool-shadow grade, fine grain and -14 LUFS loudness. Not affiliated with or commissioned by Lume; original video-essay footage © Lume.
